Hitachi Magic Wand -- The Legend Continues

For a brief moment, in the year 2000, the Hitachi Magic Wand was not being sold in the USA. There was a conflict of interest with the US distributor, likely because the Wand was being sold and marketing off-label as a sex toy. In June of that same year, Hitachi teamed up with Vibratex to become the exclusive supplier of the Wand to the US. If you want the full history from 1968 (its debut) until now, check out this Wikipedia article. This post is geared toward what the Wand is, isn't, how to use it, and what it can be with attachments.

Where to get your own Magic Wand:

Upfront, let's get one thing straight. Vibratex supplies the market with the Magic Wand. Therefore, reputable suppliers buy their Wands in bulk from Vibratex. There are quite a few knock-offs present on the market. Most of them are bought through Amazon or shady looking stores. But, there are numerous independent, smaller businesses that sell this gem. I have purchased four of these wands - two from Amazon (one for my Wife, and one recently for our mutual friend), one through somewhere I can't remember (for my Aunt), and one through Couples Playthings (for my mother-in-law). Couples Playthings was, by far, the best customer service experience for buying this wand. I had no doubt it was a genuine Magic Wand, shipping was swift, and their customer service is what all business models should emulate. Thank God for small business.

So, yes, my Wife and I purchase these for family members and friends. We believe in this product so much that we will continue to buy these for people we love. Now, let's get down to the brass tacks of what this amazing machine really is.

What the Magic Wand is:

For starters, it was originally marketed as a body massager. Well, what do you think happened next? I venture to say that within five minutes of being on the market, someone had an orgasm from the Wand. And these days, that's exactly what it is used for. The wand has two settings, 5000 and 6000 RPMs. It goes from really intense to holy sh*t with a flick of a switch. You'll notice in my YouTube video (at the bottom of this post) that there is really only one way to adjust the vibrations any further. Make the $10 investment, and buy yourself a light dimming switch. Plug the Wand into that, plug the switch into the wall -- now you have full control over the Wand's vibration speeds. Regardless, you'll likely end up at the highest setting. We always do.

Some women (almost 5%), unfortunately, suffer from a condition known as anorgasmia. Anorgasmia is a fancy word to describe a person (typically female) who is not able to orgasm (or has extreme difficulty doing it). To help women achieve orgasm, Doctors have started prescribing Viagra (yes, Viagra) to women as a way to increase blood flow to the clitoris. Drugs, however, are not always the best option. In fact, if you look at the Wikipedia article about anorgasmia, you'll see the Magic Wand listed under the treatment section. Is the Magic Wand a cure for anorgasmia, no. But, it is a safe bet with very good results. Read on about the clitoris.

A woman's clitoris is not just that little nub of erectile tissue that peeks its head out when aroused. In fact, a combined effort from Odile Fillod and Marie Docher used 3D MRI computer graphing of the clitoris in concert with superior 3D printing capabilities. The result is an open source 3D model of the entire clitoris, which will give people an amazing new look at what is really going on behind the scenes. I was surprised to see how much it looks like a wishbone. But, my wish has already been granted. (I married her.)

The Magic Wand creates an intense rumble that is able to penetrate quite a bit of soft tissue. By doing this, the vibrations are able to reach an incredible amount of the clitoris (rather than just the tip). In turn, with extreme sensation throughout the clit, a woman has a much higher chance of clitoral orgasm than through sex alone. The Sybian, another favorite among those with anorgasmia, is a different alternative. However, the cost of the Sybian, lack of portability, and sheer size of it are not conducive to some people. The Magic Wand runs about $60 on most sites, where the Sybian will cost a person anywhere from $1200-1500.

It's Customizable:

Moving forward, the Magic Wand has become such a staple in world sex culture, that companies have started developing attachments for it. Think of it like you might think of Apple products. There is so much popularity, that third party companies have started creating customization options. But remember, not all attachments are created equally. In the below video, you'll see the use of the Vixen Creations Gee Whiz. They make body-safe, high-end silicone toys, and they were innovative enough to extend that creativity to the Magic Wand. They also created a replacement bulb for the Wand that looks like it might be better than the original bulb. I don't have it yet, so I can't comment on its usage.

Kinky Usage:

The Wand is also famous for being used as a forced orgasm toy in adult films, bondage, and domination. "A forced orgasm is a form of orgasm control where the active partner sexually stimulates a submissive partner to the point of the submissive's involuntary orgasm, with the submissive attempting to restrain the onset of orgasm." (Wikipedia) It's just another way that two or more people can build trust and vulnerability with each other. This is not something that Mrs. Secure and I have tried, but I just want to let you know that it's out there.

The Wand has become a staple in our bedroom play (and Mrs. Secure's solo play). It is, by far, our absolute favorite sex toy (for her). The success rate of her having an orgasm from the Magic Wand is 99%. If we are really into the moment, and she wants to orgasm multiple times, the Wand is capable of helping her achieve multiple orgasm success about 95% of the time. Obviously, this is one heck of a track record. No other toy comes close.

So what isn't the Wand?

The Wand is not a dildo or insertable toy. The attachments available for the Wand have some that turn it into an insertable toy, but they are not as good as stand-alone items (in Mrs. Secure's opinion). For g-spot massage, the best success we've had was the nJoy Pure Wand or my own penis. The Magic Wand is designed to induce a clitoral orgasm (not g-spot).

The Magic Wand is not the end-all be-all sex toy, either. We still use number toys that are not the Wand, because each one has its own strengths and weaknesses. The Wand is great for getting Mrs. Secure to orgasm quickly, but sometimes, we want to go slowly. In that case, we may not use anything at all.

The Wand's only cosmetic weakness is the fact that it yellows and picks up fabric colors or colors from the attachments. You'll see in my video that the rubber has yellowed over time. This is a known issue with the Wand, but it by no means takes away from its ease of use and raw power. Five years of use, and it's still as powerful as day one.

Conclusion:

I know that this article is just one of thousands that are written about the Magic Wand, but I really felt called to talk about it. I did not get any of our Wands for free. My hard-earned money was spent on each one of them, and I have zero regrets. The happiness on my Wife's face, the glorious comments from our family and friends, and the fact that it is so reliable -- these are the reasons I'm pushing this product to the public. I glean no profit from this post, nor do I care. The smiles and millions of orgasms worldwide are enough to make anyone happy.

If you haven't clicked any of the links for the Magic Wand, check out Couples Playthings. They are a reputable, small business, and they carry the genuine (bought from Vibratex) Original Magic Wand. They also carry the rechargeable Wand, but I can't review it, because I don't have it. However, I have heard great things on its behalf.

Here is the YouTube video I made for the Magic Wand:
